Welcome to the Freightliner Chassis Owners Club

The Freightliner Chassis Owners Club (FCOC), a chapter of the Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA), was founded in 1994.

The purpose of our chapter is to promote social, recreational, and informational exchange activities. We hold two chapter meetings each year, one at each of our National rallies. FCOC National rallies are generally held after the FMCA national meetings. Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) supports our club and brings a motorhome chassis to rallies for technical reviews and discussions.

The cover of our newsletter focuses on rallies this summer in SD and WY, close to Mt Rushmore

Our 2012 Fourth Quarter newsletter has been published - late, we know. The Club apologizes for this, but some changes in assignments and problems finding a responsible publisher caused the delay. We hope those are behind us now.

Look for information about upcoming 2013 rallies including our National Rally in Sturgis SD in June.

You can read and download the newsletter from the web site. Go to News, Newsletters, and click on the link to open it.

The big winner was the Quartzsite Historical Society, which received a $500 donation from the ticket proceeds.

Our closing night event was the Saturday dinner, which included a meal and activities. We once again came to the tent for fellowship during a Happy Hour, followed by the dinner meal. Many thanks go out to the volunteers who have helped to serve the food at each meal we've had at the Rally; they help us out but have to wait to get their own dinner to the end of serving! And, of course, our thanks go out to Tom and Maryles James, Rally Master, and the officers who all pitch in to keep things going.

The highlight of Thursday's program was a presentation by Brian Caudell of Freightliner's 2012 Fireside Chat. The Fireside Chat is an annual presentation by Freightliner of current topics on their motorhome chassis. At Goshen IN last year the presentation was given as a slide show, with a chassis nearby so attendees could get a hands-on look. Today the presentation was made at the chassis itself, so Brian could point out various features and their locations as he was discussing them and attendees could point to a place on the chassis with their questions.

Day One of the FCOC Winter Rally in Quartzsite AZ opened at the end of a long stretch of unseasonable cold weather in the region. At least the wind had died down some; members setting up the rally area the day before reported that the wind blew so hard it even broke the yellow plastic tape they used to lay out the rally area!

But the fellowship of members getting together was anything but cold. About 50 motorhomes trekked in to be part of the rally, and there was lots of cheer as they greeted old friends and made new ones.
